A favourite with professional groomers around the world, the Mars Coat King is great for stripping and dematting long coats. The double-wide version is ideal for larger breeds and allows you to process a lot of hair quickly.
The Mars Coat King is the perfect tool for stripping large areas of matted fur in a short amount of time. The teeth easily remove loose, shedding hair from thick undercoats without painful pulling or damaging your dog's sensitive skin. The teeth are set at a specific angle to ensure safe and comfortable usage. Unlike clipping, the Mars Coat King only removes the dead hair from the coat, reducing grooming time and achieving a more natural look.
They are available in two blade types: coarse and fine. Each is 7cm wide, the difference is how many teeth it has and how close together they are. As a general rule, if you have a very dense, matted or wiry coat a coarse blade with teeth further apart is best. If you have a very fine, soft or long coat a fine blade with teeth closer together are better. Alternatively, you can use a coarse blade to get a thick, matted coat under control and then finish it with a fine blade.
The coarse blade has 18 teeth, spaced further apart than those on the fine blade. It is ideal for dogs with matted, thick coats or wire-haired dogs. It is recommended for breeds such as Newfoundlands, Wire-haired Terriers, Schnauzers, Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies.
The fine blade has 23 teeth, which are closer together than those on the coarse blade. It is ideal for dogs with long, soft or very short coats. It is recommended for breeds such as collies, Samoyeds, Golden Retrievers, Saint Bernards, Alaskan Malamutes, Siberian Huskies and German Shepherds.
