The EquiAmi Lunge Cavesson is a much-improved, modern version of an age-old classic.

The innovative EquiAmi Lunge cavesson is flatter, lightweight and soft providing a better fit to minimise movement which may cause pinching or rubbing. It is designed to give more room for the eyes and the broad noseband provides greater comfort for the horse.

The EquiAmi Lunge Cavesson comes with detachable bit straps so that they can be used without a bridle.

Designed in house and made in England from high-quality soft yet strong polyester webbing, the EquiAmi Lunge Cavesson is available in black in three sizes, pony, cob and full. The sizing is fairly generous and the pony size is aimed at Welsh A & B / small native types.

The EquiAmi Lunge Cavesson was awarded runner-up in the innovation awards at BETA 2012 against some very strong competition. The judges said: "The low cheeks and wide noseband are beneficial adaptations resulting in a comfortable and well-fitting cavesson. It is user friendly, durable and offers excellent value for money".

The folk at EquiAmi described how their Lunge Cavesson is an improvement on other designs, and why a Lunge Cavesson is important:

'We do not generally like lungeing cavessons as they are extremely heavy on the front of the nose and don't often fit very well. We have designed a lovely lightweight practical lungeing cavesson that is made from soft yet strong modern webbing. It was runner-up in the innovations awards at BETA 2012 for its modern design which reduces rubbing and twisting. It also has optional bit straps which eliminates the need to have a bridle squashed under the cavesson. We think this is an excellent addition to the tack room. Unless your horse is particularly strong or inclined to take liberties, you should avoid attaching the lunge rein to the bit as this disturbs the soft, equal contact that is created by the training aid. Lungeing from the bit can cause sideways pressure on the mouth and inward head tilt which are both undesirable. Lungeing from the middle ring of the cavesson avoids pressure on the bit and makes changing the rein simple as you just turn the horse in the other direction and carry on. We are proud that our cavessons are designed and made in England.'
